Ball bearing units
Due to their versatility and cost-effectiveness, ball bearing units are used in many industrial applications.
Ball bearing units consist of an insert bearing mounted in a housing. The insert bearing features a spherical (convex) outer surface and an extended inner ring that includes a mechanism to lock the unit to the shaft. The housing has a corresponding spherical but concave hole.
The SKF product range offers a wide variety of units with different housing shapes, bearings, seals, and locking methods. It includes units that conform to ISO standards, North American standards, and Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS). Ball bearing units can accommodate moderate initial misalignment but typically do not allow for axial displacement.
