Support Bearings
SKF bearing housings are available in many designs and variants. The main product range is based on double or triple-row cylindrical roller bearings. Single-row needle bearings and double-row tapered roller bearing designs are also available.
Support bearings have been specifically developed for cluster-type cold rolling mills, but they can also be used for other applications, such as straightening or bending machines. These bearings are particularly characterized by a thick-walled outer ring and can be mounted on fixed support shafts to create backup or straightening rollers. Figure 1 shows the arrangement of support bearings on eight support shafts of a 20-roll mill.
