Angular Contact Ball Bearings

Spherical roller bearings have rolling paths in which the inner and outer rings are displaced relative to each other in the direction of the bearing axis. This means that these bearings are designed to accommodate combined loads, i.e., radial and axial loads acting simultaneously.

The axial load carrying capacity of angular contact ball bearings increases as the contact angle increases. The contact angle is defined as the angle between a line connecting the points of contact of the ball and the rolling paths in the radial plane, where the combined load is transmitted from one rolling path to the other, and a line perpendicular to the bearing axis.
