Angled Contact Spherical Plain Bearings

Angled contact spherical plain bearings have a spherical shape and are inclined at an angle to the bearing axis (Figure 1). This design makes them highly suitable for accommodating combined (radial and axial) loads. Single angular contact spherical plain bearings can only accommodate axial loads acting in one direction and allow for separate mounting of the rings, making them separable.

SKF produces maintenance-free single-acting angular planar bearings with a standard steel/PTFE FRP sliding contact surface combination in the GAC series. Other designs and series are available upon request.
